The Automotive industry is constantly changing aided by technology. So here is how each exotic company stands right now and in the next 5-10 years.
Alfa Romeo: Alfa is a dead company trying unsuccessfully climb out of the grave. The 4c spider is already slated for cancellation in 2019 with the hardtop soon to follow. The Giulia is entering a class already owned by Mercedes and Bmw. Prediction: they will be back to square one in 5 years.
Aston Martin: Aston Martin is in one of the best positions of anybody in the industry. With the new Vanquish just released and the Vantage replacement on the way soon it enter a new era while still staying true to it roots. But the big news is the Nebula, or AM-RB_001, which is going to completely reinvent the hyper car. Prediction: will be one of the most successful companies in 10 years.
Bentley: Absolutely nothing will change. The will have the same amount of cars sold each year to the same clientel. Prediction: You just wasted 15 seconds of your life you will never get back.
Bmw: is not an exotic company no matter what the M4 fan boys say.
Bugatti: Are and will continue to be great cars if your going in a straight line or if you have to show you’re richer than everybody else on Rodeo Drive. Prediction: Are great cars for a status symbol but wont release another car until the mid 20’s.
Ferrari. Ferrari is in the worst situation of their existence. They aren’t winning F1, there cars are not the fastest, not the rarest, and aren’t the best drivers cars. The only thing they are good at are accidental G.T. cars. Prediction: The only way they can survive is transitioning into an Aston Martin like company, but there is one glaring problem: They are too stubborn to admit that they don’t make the best sports cars anymore. As a result, they will die out, will be bought by a major group like VW, and be reborn into a G.T. company with an F1 team. There is only one group of people that can save them: the avid collectors. But there is a problem on that front too. As the next generation of billionaires are raised Ferrari isn’t the only great supercar company out there, making less incentive for the collection that goes on today.
Koenigsegg: Will never be able to prove that they are the fastest car in the world. Nonetheless, they have lost their novelty because the Regera is basically an Agera with Apple car play. Prediction: Will continue to only sell a few cars a year because of their size and name recognition.
Lamborghini: Unlike Ferrari, Lamborghini has fulfilled it job in the industry: making great looking poster cars. However, the Nuerburgring times are complete lies and should be taken with a grain of salt. Predictions: They will continue to make great looking cars that fell like skateboards.
McLaren: McLaren is finally seeing the results of releasing a new car every two seconds. They now have a turbo competitor (540c/570s or GT), a medium car (650s), an SV competitor (675 LT) and a hyper car (P1). Prediction: with the new F1 coming, McLaren is on the rise. It will continue to be one of the two best brands for at least the next 5 years.
Mercedes: Mercedes is doing what Ferrari once was: dominating F1. They are finally using their racing technology to good use in the GTR and GTC. But they are most dominate in the s-class market. Bmw doesn’t even try to compete. But that is far from the main thing. That honor goes to the R-50, the supposed hyper car. Prediction: Mercedes is going to dominate all around leaving Bmw to go focus on Rolls-Royce, until Maybach outranks them.
Pagani: Pagani is a great company if you take it for what it is: a piece of art that happens to be a car. They are probably one of the most impressive cars in the world. Prediction: They will continue to be one of the most beautiful creations to ever set rubber to asphalt. However, as shown with the BC and the Tempesta package, speed is becoming more of a focus. Once they realize they don’t have the money for R/d as companies like VW do they will make much better cars.
Porsche: In my not so humble opinion Porsche has the best line of current cars. It has a huge range it arguably the best car in most of the segment it participates in. I believe that the Cayman GT4, 911 Carrera, turbo s, GT3 RS , 911 R, and the 918 Spider are all the best cars in their respective segments. Prediction: Porsche will continue to be one of the most successful brands in the industry.
Rolls-Royce: Rolls is one of the best luxury brands in history. With the exception of the Ghost, which serves no purpose at all, all of the cars have a place. They don’t try to be anything that they aren’t. In addition, the coming Bentayga competitor is going to revolutionize the luxury automobile. Prediction: Rolls will continue to be the best luxury cars but will be forced to go electric within the next 10 years.
